More Flower bags

This is the one at the nursery, I bought the bag and made my own. I am hoping mine will fill in nicely like this one. So pretty isn't it?

Bag for planting flowers, fill with potting soil, put plants in the slits in the bag.
I filled this one with begonias, I will keep you posted on how it goes. You can hang these a fence, deck railing, etc. Neat way to display your flowers and keep them away from the 4 dogs~~~~~~

painting my kitchen again

I just can't take it! We painted our kitchen in January a very bright yellow to make it cheerful and it is just too bright. I would love to go plain jane, pottery barn , light colors in the kitchen and family room (they connect) but I am getting opposition from my other half. Who likes color. My wardrobe consists of mostly, black, brown, gray and white. After a confrontation.. we are looking to compromise.... :-( lighter yellow and still the green in the family room. I brought home 2 samples of a paint , one lemon creme, and the the one I really really really like called coconut milk. I will keep you update on the outcome. Need to prime the wall and test them... keep your fingers crossed. Don't think he will budge on this one folks......

Summer is coming soon!

We have had so much lately that it is so nice to see the sun. My flowers are growing due to the rain, thank goodness for them. I do have a bad habit of forgetting that watering thing! But since we have had so much rain, the gardens are in need of some serious attention. At work it seems like someone is always in need of my attention, at home I tend to zone out.... my poor hubby. I do remember to feed the 4 dogs! :-)) I just have been so busy at work that it seems to have taken a lot out of me lately. I guess I need some watering also. If I don't take care of myself, then who will right? I guess my garden and myself need some watering! I am feeling a bit thirsty!

Memorial Day Memories

I can remember those Memorial Days when I was younger. I would be marching in the annual Memorial Day parade each year. Twirling my baton, not a care in the world. Things have changed quite a bit since those days. I still think I can twirl a baton if I wanted too. I remember once I dented our new TV cabinet twirling that baton in the house ( i wasn't allowed too do that ) my parents knew I was abit clumsy. :-)) I was always twirling outside , took my baton everyone.... I guess in life it is nice to be able to twirl abit everyday. Have fun, don't take ourselves so seriously. I know many this weekend will mourn our fallen heroes as well as those that we have loved that have passed to a better place. My friend called me today and told me her brother in law had committed suicide. I feel so bad for her and her husband, his brother was the only family he had in the world other than his children. Remember that phone call to a love one or friend you forgot to make, ran out of time, etc?? Make that call. Life can be so short, I think I just might have to get me a new baton....... Go twirl today! :-))

Back in the day.....

Are you "young enough to remember a 5 & 10 store? Just visited one not to long ago, now I didn't see anything for 5 or 10 cents but it just reminded me of how I use to visit these type of stores when I was a young girl. Was life simpler then? I remember sitting at the soda counter getting a "coke" with my Mom. The big ceiling fans above me and a coke in front of me. This must of been the start of my diet coke addiction. :-) But it is a memory that I will always have of me and my Mom. I urge you all to make a memory with someone that is important to you, see what a simple "coke" can do. Life is too short... make those memories now!

Happy Graduation!

Mother's Day was great this year again. Going back to Ohio is always a treat. My children (grown) live in Ohio. My son, Andrew graduated on Mother's Day from the University Of Toledo. This was a proud moment for me and his family. Awesome job Andrew. You do have the world at your feet. Cherish each day and live your life to the fullest.

Good to be home!

Home from a long weekend in Ohio for my son's graduation. Andrew graduated from the University of Toledo on Mother's Day. What a great gift! We are very proud of him. He now has the world ahead of him. I know that he will succeed in whatever he chooses to do. The 4 dogs handled us being gone. Thanks to our neighbors for pet sitting our furry family. I know they missed us, mostly they missed their routines. They like their routines, just like their Mommy, and if it gets messed up they can be out of sorts. But they did good! It is nice to be back home, but I do miss my family up in Ohio. It was great fun!

Houseguest

This little pup was found by our neighbors at track practice at the local high school. We have tried to find his family with no luck. He spent most of day at our house with the 4 dogs. He is adorable. Since we are full at the 4 dog home with our puppies, we thought he might have to go to the shelter. He is so adorable that I don't think he would be there for to long. But our other neighbors "Jennifer and her son Scott" are taking him in for a few days on a trial basis. Nothing is for sure yet, but this give us time to either find his owners or a possible new family for this well behaved little guy. I will keep you updated!

Monday....

Happy Monday! After a long day at work it is nice to be home. One thing about my 4 dogs is that when I come home they are waiting for their Mommy! Everyday when I get home, I announce that I am going up to "change". Guinness and Libby race up the steps to beat me to the top. Then they race down the hall way and JUMP into our bed. Then usually Guinness will run back down the hall way, jump on the front bedroom's bed and then to the back bedroom bed and then run down the hall to jump on our bed again! This is a daily happening at the O'Brien's household
Above pic is them saying "what Mommy we didn't mess up the bed"

My hometown... going to Ohio next week!

This is the Lorain Lighthouse. I grew up in Lorain, OH. The lighthouse is a landmark ( or lakemark) :-) on Lake Erie. I took this pic a few years ago when we were back for a visit. Going back for my son's graduation from Toledo University next weekend and to celebrate Mother's Day.
